Four things leave this phone, each only when you ask for it. Everything else — the plan, the recipes, the pantry, cook mode — happens here and stays here, with no network at all.
What leaves this phone, and when
Your purchases → RevenueCat, and Apple
- Which plan you bought, and when
- Its price and your store country
- A random ID for this install — not your Apple ID
- Your iOS and app version
Only when you subscribe, restore, renew or cancel.
A photo you choose → our own service, then Google Gemini
- The single image you picked, resized
- A random ID for this install, to count your daily reads
Only when you tap “photograph” — never in the background, never your library.
A recipe link you paste → our own service, then the site itself
- The address you pasted, nothing else
Only when you paste one and tap read.
Your household’s week → your own iCloud — never our servers
- The plan, the list, the pantry, who is at the table
Only if you start or join a household. It stays in your iCloud account.
What never leaves, under any circumstance
- Your name, your email, your Apple ID
- What you cook, plan or eat — no screen, tap or session is reported
- Your price book — your receipts are your habits, and they stay here
- Your journal, and every figure computed from it
- Your photo library — only the one image you pick, one at a time
- Any advertising identifier. There are no ads, and no tracking.
Only when you ask — and it stays on this phone
- Apple Health — a meal you log, as energy, protein, carbs and fat. Off by default; never read.
- Reminders — your shopping list, copied into a list called Mealtide. Nothing is read back.
Both are yours to switch on, and both write into Apple’s own apps on this device. Neither goes through us.
Children
Mealtide is rated 4+ and asks for no personal information from anyone, at any age. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no messaging and no advertising.
Keeping and deleting what is here
Your plan, pantry, journal and price book live on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. If you started a household, its shared week lives in your own iCloud account — leave the household in Settings, or delete the Mealtide data from iCloud settings on your device. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete. The daily photo-read counter on our service is keyed to a random install ID, holds no content, and expires on its own each day.
